Full Body Massage

Massage is defined as the systematic manual (use of hands) or mechanical manipulation of the soft tissues of the body for therapeutic purposes such as improving circulation of the blood and lymph, relaxation of the muscles, relief from pain, restoration of metabolic balance, and other benefits both physical and mental.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release is a very effective hands-on technique that provides sustained pressure into fascial restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion.

The fascia is a specialized system of the body that is very densely woven, covering and interpenetrating every muscle, bone, nerve, artery, and vein as well as all of our internal organs including the heart, lungs, brain, and spinal chord. The most interesting aspect of the fascial system is that it is not just a system of separate coverings. It is actually one structure that exists from head to toe without interruption. In this way, you can begin to see that each part of the entire body is connected to every other part by the fascia, much like the yarn in a sweater.

Fascia also plays an important role in the support of our bodies since it surrounds and attaches to all structures. These structures would not be able to provide the stability without the constant pull of the fascia system. In fact, our bones can be thought of as tent poles, which cannot support the structure without the constant support of the guide wires (or fascia) to keep an adequate amount of tension to allow the tent (or body) to remain upright with the proper equilibrium.

In the normal healthy state, the fascia is relaxed and pliable in configuration. It has the ability to stretch and move without restriction. When experience physical trauma, scarring, or inflammation, the fascia loses its pliability. It becomes tight, restricted, and a source of tension to the rest of the body. Trauma, such as a fall, whiplash, surgery, repetitive stress, or just habitual poor posture over time has a cumulative effect. The changes they cause in the fascial system influence the comfort and functioning of our body. The fascia can exert excessive pressure producing pain or restriction of motion.

Myofascial Release is a very effective hands-on technique that provides sustained pressure into fascial restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion.

Reiki

Reiki (pronounced ray-key) means “spiritually guided life energy for healing.” Reiki is a Japanese technique rediscovered in ancient Buddhist scriptures for stress relief and relaxation that also promotes healing. The spiritually guided life energy for healing transfers from one person to another through the hands.

Reiki Principles

  • Just for today, do not worry
  • Just for today, do not anger
  • Honor your parents, teachers, elders
  • Do your work honestly
  • Show gratitude to everything

Deep Tissue Massage

This type of massage focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. If you have a stiff neck, lower back stiffness, and sore shoulders, you can benefit from a deep tissue massage. This is very common for those who are seated at a computer most of the day at work.

Adhesions in the muscles, tendons, and ligaments cause a restriction in blood flow. A good deep tissue massage is necessary to break these adhesions down. This allows for better flexibility, reduced muscle tension, and better posture.

Although there is some discomfort and pain with this type of massage, the benefits more than make up for this.

Swedish Massage

Swedish massage is a gentler form of massage than deep tissue and has some unique benefits. A good Swedish massage will relax your muscles by releasing the buildup of toxins. By clearing lactic acid and other waste products, blood circulation will improve and nutrients can better enter into your body’s tissues.

Oriental Massage

This type of massage dates all the way back to the days of the Ming Dynasty. With a 600-year history, Oriental massage is a tried and true method in aiding the body to help heal itself. As with Chinese medicine, this massage type incorporates a holistic approach by getting energy to flow in the body’s meridians and muscles.

Reflexology

Did you know that there are powerful energy centers in the palm of each hand and on the sole of each foot? There are reflexes in the feet and hands that correspond to every part in the body. Applying pressure and massaging action to these areas can improve your health by opening up the energy system pathways. You can see an interactive reflexology foot map here.

Prenatal Massage

More and more women are investing in prenatal massages. The benefits of this massage include:

  • Less back, foot, and pelvic pain caused by changes in posture
  • Relaxes and soothes baby
  • Improve sleep, digestion, and skin elasticity
  • Reduce stress

Post Partum Massage

New moms can benefit greatly from this massage. In addition to relaxing and reducing stress, a post partum massage can:

  • Relieve pain in the back, neck, and shoulders
  • Help the uterus shrink back to its normal size
  • Reduce cellulite
  • Reduce stress hormones
  • Helps restore the abdominal muscle wall

Chakra

The most powerful way to open, activate, energize and balance all of our chakras and keep our bodies and minds healthy is to love ourselves and others unconditionally.

Chakra consists of the body’s seven major bodily energy centers. Chakra is an ancient Indian word for “wheel”. These run down the spinal column with each energy center serving a different purpose.

Hello Glenn: I REALLY enjoy your website! You have ALOT of very insightful information. Espeically Reiki! That is SO important. Not too many are willing to even talk about it. I did Reiki for years when I was a Veterinary Assistant. I KNOW that it does work. I also do long distance reiki with the symbols. I had a very powerful spiritual experience when I was little. My Mom is a Reiki Master and gave my my Reiki Master degree. Been doing reiki for years!

I’m really am looking forward to meeting you this Monday! I KNOW there is a reason for this for us meeting! See you on Monday 🙂

    LOVE and Christ LIGHT: Cheryl
